Our heritage
In 1932, Alfred Petersen opened a small basement business in Kastelvej, Copenhagen, called Alfred Petersens Jernvarefabrik. It produced wrought iron lamps, handrails and water diffusers. After almost two decades, Petersen decided to move the business to Rødovre, an industrial area of Copenhagen. This is where they began to manufacture galvanized thimbles and turnbuckles.
The 1950s saw contact with the marine industry and the demand for stainless steel fittings increased. In 1958, Paul Elvstrøm requested stainless thimbles and shackles, which began the stainless programme.
Today, the business is still family-owned and managed, with the third generation in charge of the company. Located in Haderslev, Blue Wave consists of 50 skilled employees, many of whom have dedicated more than 25 years to the company.
